Scrubbers are really essential for us for everyday purpose. We have already talked about the need of a scrub in my previous post. So in this one, I will straight talk about the Homemade Scrub cubes only.

Scrub cubes are conectrated form of scrubbers. You can take 2-3 cubes, as per your choice, and rub it all over your body for exfoliation. Use clean wipes or running water to remove the scrubber along will the exfoliated dead skin cells.

Now I will write about the Basic Sugar Scrub Cubes first…

What do you need?

  • Coconut oil – 1/4th cup
  • Soap (grated)- half a cup
  • Sugar- 1 cup
  • Essential oil (optional)
  • Colour (optional)

Food graded colors are always preferred but don’t put excess!! Crayon colours can also be adder as in any case no one is gonna eat it! Sugar should be coarse enough to work as a scrubber.

Mix warm coconut oil, grated soap and sugar in a bowl. Stir continuously so that the soap dissolves in oil completely. Don’t worry about the sugar as it is not soluble in oil. Mix colour and essential oils in this stage. Then keep this mixture to freezer to set.

After cooling, demould it properly. Cut into cubes and keep in a closed lid glass jar.

So this was the detailed method to make a basic Scrub Cubes. Now we will do something advanced.

Coffee Scrub Cubes

The ingredients to make the basic one are needed for this one also. Apart from all those, you will need ground coffee beans or instant coffee powder for the coffeeness!

Coffee is a wonderful ingredient that helps to reduce cellulite from our body. So I thought of making coffee scrub cubes.

Take coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl and heat until melts. To this add sugar and grated soap. Mix well and then add coffee powder (one third of a cup will be just enough). Then pour this mixture to molds or if you don’t have a mold you can spread this mixture to a tart pan. Freeze completely at least for hours. Then demold the scrubs. If you are using a tart pan then demold it and cut into cubes.

Preservation is very important for sugar cubes. These have to kept inside glass jar with the lid closed tightly. If these come in contact with moisture for a long time, the cubes will get dried and powdery.

Mix and match your own homemade scrub cubes and share the recipe below…
